I can finally show the progress on my first ever Diorama build. It represents a retreating Soviet KV-2 tank stuck on a railway trestle bridge during October 1941. Supposedly attacked by a dive bomber such as a German Stuka, the Crew managed to escape the tank in time. But when they get back they see that the Stuka kinda missed the tank but still managed to destroy the bridge and disable the KV. Therefor the title “No Way Home”
The bridge will be detailed with bolt heads and railway spikes. The ground under the bridge will represent a Russian marsh
The resin figures are from Stalingrad Miniatures
The tank will be finished next. It will sport a voyager etched set and fruilmodel tracks.
The mean look of the KV-2 tank.
The tankcrew show the anxiety from soon being German prisoners of war.
Soviet KV-2 Diorama Railway Trestle Bridge
The railway trestle bridge is constructed from balsa wood.
Breaking up the green color even further with different oils.
The initial different layers of green made with both airbrushed acrylics and brushed on oils.
More oils. The weathering has started with some streaking using vertical flapping with a soft and moist brush.
