Last weekend in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary the Moson Show 2013 was held. A lovely show with lots of nice people, great weather, good food, hundreds of exhibited models and awesome shopping. Thanks everyone for making it the awesome show it is! I had the good luck of taking home a gold medal for my Sherman Jumbo. Really looking forward to going again next year and hope to meet all of you again! READ MORE
In the summer of 2011 we visited California and at that visit California State Railroad Museum was at the top of my list. To see all this historical railroad equipment was a dream come true. The amazing surrounding of the historical district of Sacramento made it even better. Wandering around like a kid in the candy store with the jaw glued to the floor I only managed to snap a couple of decent pictures but here they are! 🙂 READ MORE
I’m sad to say that this model is destroyed. Being new to airplane modeling I made the faulty decision to use Alclad Clear Coat to seal the decals. I read online that once dry, washes would not dissolve the clear coat. Sadly that didn’t work on my model. It just wrinkles and peels off. I tried sealing it with a coat of canned acrylic coat from Tamiya but to no avail.
If anyone has any advice on how to salvage the model please let me know, but here are pictures of how far I got anyway:
A small clip showcasing my 2-4-4 Forney steam engine in On30 1:48 scale with Tsunami sound.
The wobbling is just the rollers jerking around, the engine itself is balanced correctly.
My first humble steps in aircraft modeling. Not focusing on the result, only the process and how to build airplane models. I have to say so far it’s been super fun! Working on filling all the gaps now in the hull and wings, maybe not that fun but mainly because I really don’t know what I’m doing hehe. Well here are pics of finished cockpit. I know the color tint is a bit off, it looked OK before I added the dark wash, something I will do better on my next one. The photo-etch from Eduard was a bliss and really easy and fun to assemble.
